Isao (Llorens Ishikawa)

Naturalist, minimalist and colourful

A mix between figuration and abstraction… Isao treats creatures that he turns into symbols of life.

After studying in Paris, Isao leaves for Japan in a bid to connect with his motherly roots. There, he discovers and starts studying calligraphy. Upon his returning to Paris, and later move to Barcelona, he explores, through the lens of a kaleidoscope, the many perceptions of a same concept. Paintings, sculptures, illustrations, designs, animations and films; between figuration and abstraction, and in the name of reductionism, he sets the boundaries of simplification.  Isao creates an artwork displaying subtle colours, both unique and original. He treats with great ingeniosity and skilfulness these creatures that he turns into symbols of life… his life.
