Earth : A mirror to our world
Everything seems to be leading back to the centre of Yves Lévêque’s meditation : the earth, fields, insects, birds, trees, the cultural universe.
Yves Lévêque, a self-taught artist, was born to a North-American mother and French father. He owes his painting career’s start to his encounter with several notorious authors and philosophers. In 1967, he leaves Paris for the countryside, his soon-to-become playground where he can let his imagination run wild and free. The path of Yves Lévêque’s life and career is one of rare coherence, everything seems to be leading back to the centre of his meditation : the earth, fields, insects, birds, trees, the cultural universe. Hollow grounds, understory, willow trees and birch wood have been accompanying him for months on a ballad, humming the melody of his Canadian origins and his forester outlook. According to this ever-so-demanding artist, this multifaceted theme constitutes an inexhaustible sourceof riches : it is a mirror to our world.
